The purpose of establishing Dokuz Eylül University Information Technologies Research and Application Center (DEBTAM); To plan educational programs to form the basis for interdisciplinary studies in the field of informatics, especially in engineering fields, to facilitate university-industry cooperation by mediating in-house and external collaborations and coordination in informatics projects involving scientific research and development activities, to provide the technological and physical infrastructure that can host students’ projects in the field of informatics, and to provide services regarding the design, management and use of information technologies and systems.

Details of the Centre’s Aims:

• To strengthen University-Industry Cooperation and accelerate the transfer of results to the sector.
• To form the necessary project teams in order to make the production carried out in the university and the sector more efficient.
• To direct the knowledge produced at the university to relevant fields within the framework of technology development.
• To strengthen the cooperation between existing units within the university and the industry and to ensure that facilities are made available for common use between units.
• Organizing training courses, seminars, panels, conferences, certificate programs.
• To contribute to the development of joint projects with the business world in the fields of science, engineering, health and social sciences.
• To enable business world representatives to share their experiences with faculty, college and vocational school students in classes.
• Ensuring the adaptation of small and medium-sized businesses to new and advanced technologies and increasing efficiency.
• To contribute to joint work with the business world in order to increase product quality and standards, reduce production costs and commercialize technological knowledge.
• To create effective internship programs to educate university students and improve employment opportunities after graduation.
• To support efforts to benefit from funds to be provided from relevant institutions and organizations so that the technical infrastructure of the university can produce services that meet the expectations of the business world.
• To ensure that the results of activities and studies aimed at the R&D needs of the industry are shared with the business world in the selection of thesis topics of master’s and doctoral students and in the research carried out by faculty members.
• To ensure that the business world supports researchers in the data collection phase for research carried out by university faculty members and master’s and doctoral students.
